Safeguarding
Leigh and Bransford Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and respected. Our school provides a nurturing and secure environment where children can thrive. Staff are vigilant in identifying signs of abuse or neglect and follow clear procedures to ensure that pupils receive the support, protection, and care they need. Safeguarding and child protection are central to everything we do.

Additional information about safeguarding at Leigh and Bransford
All staff and volunteers undergo rigorous safer recruitment checks before joining our school community. We ensure that everyone working with our children has the appropriate clearances and receives regular safeguarding and child protection training.
We have designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) and trained governors who oversee our safeguarding procedures.
Our robust policies and systems ensure that any concerns about a child’s welfare are shared promptly with the DSLs, parents, and relevant external agencies, in line with the Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership guidance.
We are also committed to supporting the Government’s Prevent strategy, helping to protect children from the risks of radicalisation and extremism.
All staff are expected to follow our Staff Code of Conduct and uphold the highest standards of professionalism. Any concerns about staff conduct must be reported to the Headteacher, and concerns regarding the Headteacher should be directed to the Trust CEO, Mr Dafydd Lawday. Our Whistleblowing Policy is in place and has been shared with all staff.
We deliver a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education, alongside a carefully planned Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) programme. These support our children in understanding how to keep themselves safe, build resilience, and develop a strong awareness of their mental health and wellbeing.
All staff and adults have a responsibility to make sure that children at Leigh and Bransford Primary School are safe; all children have a right to be protected from harm.
